The Fastest Dessert ! in just 10 minutes
Looking for a sweet, after dinner treat that's fast and easy to make? These classic desserts come together in 10 minutes or less.
See this recipe from The Chocolate Hog for a tasty, chocolate milkshake that's made with just ice cream, milk and chocolate.
All you need is something frozen and scoopable (sorbet, sherbet, gelato, semifreddo) + something liquid and fizzy (soda, seltzer, beer, prosecco). Put them in a glass and you have a lazy summer dessert that will make people smile and earn you lots of points.
On this post from Food 52, you'll find links to some of recommended float combinations, including:
- Blood orange sorbet + seltzer (pictured)
- Vanilla + ginger ale
- Lemon sorbet + cava + splash of cream
- Ginger ice cream + maple syrup + seltzer
- Coconut sorbet + sparkling limeade
- Mint gelato + Aranciata
- Malted Ice Cream with Chocolate-Covered Pretzels + stout (don't be afraid of chunks -- that's what the spoon's for!)

Science is also on the side of vegetarianism. Multitudes of studies have demonstrated the remarkable health benefits of a vegetarian diet.
“Vegetarian” is defined as avoiding all
animal flesh, including fish and poultry. Vegetarians who avoid
flesh, but do eat animal products such as cheese, milk, and
eggs, are ovo-lacto-vegetarians (ovo = egg; lacto =
milk, cheese, etc.). The ranks of those who abstain from
all animal products are rapidly growing; these people
are referred to as pure vegetarians or vegans.
Scientific research shows that health benefits increase as the amount
of food from animal sources in the diet decreases, so
vegan diets are the healthiest overall.
Preventing Cancer
Vegetarian diets—naturally low in saturated
fat, high in fiber, and replete with cancer-protective
phytochemicals—help to prevent cancer. Large studies in
England and Germany have shown that vegetarians are
about 40 percent less likely to develop cancer compared
to meat-eaters.1-3 In the United States, studies of
Seventh-Day Adventists have shown significant reductions
in cancer risk among th
